Happy Mother's Day. How did you celebrate?
Well I was hoping celebrate by having a baby, but my uterus is too comfy. :) My family let me sleep in and then we went out for a late breakfast. We took a nice drive along the beach and then spent the rest of the day playing at home. Just wanted to add that I've been missing for a bit, but wanted to let you guys know that my last month and a half of pregnancy has been so much better! Finally over the nausea and vomiting. Baby is healthy and due in 9 days. We are so excited to meet him! Hope you all had a blessed Mother's Day! - 3John4  13.0 #4 9:58PM

Please know that your child does NOT need to be enrolled in a public school setting to receive special education services. If you feel that your child needs speech therapy, occupational therapy or resource, there are services available. I have students on my caseload that attend private school or are homeschooled.
This is actually great info that I didn't know until a few days ago! Great content to post in here! - Cass  4.5 #11 8:58PM

For me, New Year's Eve is all about small plates, appetizers, and snack foods. I like to lay out a buffet of food, to snack on all night. This year I am doing cheese fondue. Please share what you do! Have a happy and safe New Year.
Normally I set up a taco bar and everyone eats, plays games, & we watch movies all night. This year will be different since my husband has to work early New Year's Day. I will be ringing in the year alone. - I-love-my-family  10.0 #7 9:53PM
I am usually alone for New Year's Eve (my kids go to the Rose Parade & my hubby works) so I just watch a movie. Back when we did have a get together, I liked to do appetizers, snacks, & desserts while we played games. - loveteachingmy4  3.9 #12 2:19PM

It's recipe day! Friends, please share recipes for your favorite side dishes. Thank you and happy cooking!!!
I love cooking vegetables of all sorts for a side dish. I just learned if a fast and easy way to cook potatoes. I take a golden potato (or any kind of potato I can keep the skin on and mash), and I put it in my pressure cooker with some water and they only take 3-5 minutes to cook in the pressure cooker. Very fast & easy! - I-love-my-family  10.0 #7 7:18PM
One of my favorites is zucchini tomato boats! Thank you Pinterest! Cut zucchini in half length wise, scoop out the middle, brush with olive oil and garlic, plop some halved cherry tomatoes in there, sprinkle on some Parmesan, and pop in the oven- I think 350* for 15mins or so?? Delish! 😋 - MommyLuvs2  6.7 #8 7:29PM
I made cilantro lime rice, it was very tasty. Cook 2 cups jasmin rice. Dump the rice in a bowl and add the zest and juice of 1 lime, 2 tablespoons of butter, and a handful of chopped cilantro. Salt and pepper to taste. - Mrs.mouse  20.2 #2 5:06PM

Sometime you don't feel like cooking. Maybe you're too tired or you don't war to make a mess. I want to know what you do on those nights. Meals that help when cooking is the last thing on your mind.
I keep cold cuts and fresh produce on hand for days like that. - jenirwin  3.1 #26 7:37AM
Oh I am the queen of this :) the crock pot of course is a lifesaver. Or if its grocery day and I know I won't have time to cook by the time we get home, I'll pick up a rotisserie chicken at sprouts and a frozen veggie side at target (love their archer farms stuff!) I try to keep frozen stuff on hand for these times...pizza, lasagna, etc. - MommyLuvs2  6.7 #8 8:56AM
I love having meals I made frozen and ready to use. Also, a well stocked pantry is a must! I find if its quick & easy, I will make it on the nights I don't feel up to cooking instead if going out. - I-love-my-family  10.0 #7 9:31AM

It's kitchen gadget week. This week's recipe exchange involves the use of your favorite kitchen gadget and how it's used in recipes.
I love my bread machine! I use it to make the dough for my clones of Cinnabons!! We give trays of these to neighbors at Christmastime, make them for birthday breakfasts and other special occasions!! So easy when the dough is done in the bread machine! I also love making dinner rolls this way! - MPCteachesher6  26.8 #1 10:17PM
My favorite is my kitchen aid mixer! I bake so much that I couldn't live without it! Plus it's a cute red one that matches our kitchen :) - MommyLuvs2  6.7 #8 7:42AM
I have so many kitchen tools that I use. Lately I have used my canning items more than anything, but I think to cook with I love using my cast iron pan. - I-love-my-family  10.0 #7 6:39PM
I have a muddler that I use in the most craziest ways. It is used as a meat tenderizer. It had a long landle and a foot that has pokey parts. It's perfect. I also use it when crushing strawberries or raspberries into lemonade. I use it to crush softly small par baked potatoes for our baked, crushed, fried potatoes. They are very good. - Mrs.mouse  20.2 #2 9:00PM

We eat a lot of sandwiches in our house. Sometimes they get boring and we rotate the same few sandwiches. I'm looking for some inspiration. Share and inspire others!
We do LOTS of almond butter and jelly at our house. (Peanut allergy) Not too original. We also love Sprouts deli sandwiches when we are having a picnic. They're pretty inexpensive for something special. Also my parents got me a panini maker a couple years ago and I will use that sometimes and then put it away and forget about it for awhile. Love when I remember to use it though, because you can't make a bad sandwich in there! 😉 - 3John4  13.0 #4 1:42PM
We went to a friend's house for dinner & had yummy gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches. Our friend buttered & grilled one side of the bread & put them on a rack on a cookie sheet. He then put out various spreads (mustards, mango chutney, fig jam, cherry preserves), meats (prosciutto, ham, roast beef, salami, etc), & cheeses (cheddar, mozzarella, fontina, gruyer, emmenthaler, Parmesan, etc). Each person put what they wanted on theirs, topped with salt & pepper, & he put it in the oven to melt. We ate them open-faced. Sooo yummy! - loveteachingmy4  3.9 #12 3:32PM
I wish I had a creative sandwich idea, but I don't. I think the most creative my children let me get with sandwiches is honey or no honey on their peanut butter sandwich, and my husband isn't much better. @mrs.mouse you should post that sandwich you made your hubby last weekend (the one he invented all by himself). :-) - I-love-my-family  10.0 #7 2:08AM

My time as a stay at home mom is coming to an end. My husband is losing his job, I was able to find a job first, so I will be returning to work in a few weeks. I made laundry detergent a couple months ago and I'm loving it. It made a large batch, and I'm curious how long it's going to last us. I also made deodorant just a couple weeks ago. Still trying to get used to it, but I think it's going to work out. We love making our own whole wheat bread, although it doesn't happen regularly. I have a wheat grinder and no other bread comes close to tasting as good. I use my KitchenAid, which can make 2 loaves at a time. Someday... I'd love a Bosch which can do 5-6 loaves!! Also recently started using a mixture of 1/2 blue Dawn and 1/2 vinegar in a spray bottle for soap scum and toilet cleaning. It's pretty amazing. We also use 1/2 vinegar and 1/2 water in a spray bottle for most of our general cleaning. I use vinegar alone instead of fabric softener. (We buy vinegar in the BIG jug) We also use essential oils and make things like our own bug spray and night-night spray. We also try and use the oils for ailments before going the western med route (tummy aches, tooth aches, pulled muscles, burns, mosquito bites, pink eye, etc). - 3John4  13.0 #4 4:01PM

Roll the dough into a tube and cut so that you have disks. Place on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 10-12 min. I also made a version with mustard, turkey, ham and cheddar. Nothing says summer like BBQ. Please share your recipes for your best BBQ foods. Lets get cooking.
We love Sprouts carne or pollo asada too! I enjoy making pizzas on the BBQ because it gets hot enough to crisp the crust. Last time I did it I put our pizza stones on the cold grill and let them heat up with the grill. I used Trader Joes pizza dough. I laid the crust out on one side for just a couple minutes then flipped it. I immediately put the toppings on and closed the lid for just a couple more minutes. Absolutely perfect!! We love all kinds of combos, but this last time was BBQ chicken. I put some chicken breasts in the crock pot with BBQ sauce for a few hours and shredded them up. Used BBQ sauce for pizza sauce, the chicken, some camelized onions that I cooked on the stove, some frozen corn, and mozzarella. When it came off the BBQ I topped it with chopped cilantro. ❤❤❤ Love my BBQ!! Keep the mess and heat outside!! 😉 - 3John4  13.0 #4 6:49PM
One of my favorite things about summer!! Lets see...we love to get the pre-marinated carne asada from sprouts, grill it up, and put it in some corn tortillas with finely chopped onion and cilantro! Also, one of my favorite things that my hubby makes is grilled corn on the cob -he "marinates" it by rolling it up in foil with a pad of butter and lawrys season salt all over! Yum! - MommyLuvs2  6.7 #8 10:06AM

We LOVE to grill. One of our favorites is ribs. I make a rub: 1T paprika, 2t garlic salt, 1t onion powder, 2T dried sage, 1/2t celery seed, & 1/4t ground red pepper. Rub that on the ribs & then grill them until well seared, basting with apple juice periodically. Then place in a broiler pan with 1/2c apple juice. Cover tightly with foil. Leave in 225 degree oven for 4 hours (250 for 3 hours if short on time.) Serve with warm BBQ sauce. - loveteachingmy4  3.9 #12 4:33PM
