Ack, me poor brain! We are in the midst of starting a new family business and my poor brain is overwhelmed. Good afternoon, ladies!! It's been pretty quiet in the Lounge this week and I just wanted to post and say HI!! Can you believe it's Wednesday already? Only a couple more days and the weekend will be here again. This week, our neighborhood has exploded with kids that are on spring break. Every day we've had kids in and out, Monday I counted NINE boys out in the backyard...and only 3 of them we  More...
BluRayn you are so sweet. What comforting and encouraging words. Thank you for your prayers for our family for the past several months. It's been amazing to watch Gods hand in both our families lives. It sounds like He put you in such a wonderful neighborhood. What a perfect place to be a light to so many kids and families. I pray your family continues to feel at home there and the Lord continues to bless you. Instead of a prayer request I want to share a wonderful praise report. My husband and I signed our escrow papers today. Everything got cleared up regarding the lien that was on our new house. It went from us having to pay an extra $8,500 to $5,500 to $1,000 to $500... then to our complete surprise, God just took care of the whole amount!! The banks signed off on it and we were free to sign papers today. It looks like it will be recorded by next Tuesday!! This has been an amazing roller coaster since October, its been so hard on our family at times. But we have had the opportunity to see Gods hands at work and we are so excited to see what's next. I just want to thank you so much for your prayers and share our joy with you!!! ❀ - 3John4  13.0 #4 10:47PM
My kids have been very sick. We may not make it to Easter service. My youngest Emily was in the hospital last week and almost had to go back. The group of friends we had when our older boys were younger were all ones that go by their first name, so that's what our kids call them by. My kids do a combination of the two and I think it also depends on the adult. Some teachers from church or Bible study are teacher _____ and some are more formal mr./mrs ______. I think if the adult has said what to call them then you can go by that lead. - I-love-my-family  10.0 #7 3:20PM

I have a question that's a bit different than the norm. I struggle with mood swings and hormone imbalance, which makes staying on a 'even keel' pretty hard at times!! I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and I'm working on trying to lose weight and get my hormones balanced out, but it's a long process and HARD! Anyway, this isn't to whine, but to ask other women, how do you handle those ti  More...
Although I don't have pcos I have battled with depression which can be similar in some ways. I find what has helped me was some much needed alone time. I treasured my time on the treadmill, it gave me time to think and clear my head. It allowed me to take a shower alone. I also find that time out with a friend or even alone will help clear my mind. I am 8 months pregnant so a majority of the things that helped me I can't do right now which has made this pregnancy even harder. - I-love-my-family  10.0 #7 11:34AM
I don't have PCOS , but I am known to have some crazy mood swings. I can't say I have mastered this by any means, I just know what has helped for me. Like @I-love-my-family, I have been known to take a mommy time out. A cup of tea , some prayer, maybe even pop over to facebook where I usually see a great post thats just what I needed or puts things in perspective.....I Also think making a list has helped when I feel like I'm at wits end. Focusing on the list and then moving on to do the next thing helps me not feel like a failure. Its wonderful that you are giving yourself grace and leaning on HIM. Remember sweet friend that God purposed YOU to be HIS wife and THEIR mom, and He made no mistake. Praying for you and if I think of any other ideas, I will post them - gardeningthroughtheseasons  10.6 #6 12:30PM
Love this thread! As moms we deal with so much more than just school, and I love that we can talk about all of that here. I struggle with my emotions a lot, and love the encouragement in this post! - MommyLuvs2  6.7 #8 9:30PM
You know, one thing that has really helped me with my hormone issues, emotional up and downs, short temperament had been my diet changes. About 2 years ago I had to make some serious dietary changes because my health just took a dive. What I had expected to change was my energy level, weight loss and my digestion to improve but I was surprised that my new diet would change my temperament, emotional issues, etc. Right now I am on a gluten free, dairy free, and grain free diet. I will always be on a gluten free and dairy free... I found out I am allergic. So the constant eating of those foods is what has hurt me over the years and caused many health issues. I will re-introduce grains when I reach my weight loss goal. I do not know if that helps but thought I would share. - abidinginHim  13.9 #3 8:03PM
